You will need a mailing list that you own the rights to. This is essential because you are literally creating a mailing list right in your own hands. You own it 100%, because you wrote it. What this means is that if you ever send something to someone else, it goes into their mailbox, not your own.
This could be a booklet, a letter, an invoice, a flyer, a flyer attachment – the possibilities are ENDLESS!
I Don`t Have A Mailing List !!
If you don’t have a list, I recommend that you get one. You don’t necessarily need to send something out every month, although I would recommend that you try to send something out every month. But just the same, this is the list that you use to send out your ad, your booklet, your thank you note, your subscription notice, your coupon – you name it, it goes into that list. It doesn’t matter if you send out 1 or 100, it’s yours, it’s your information, it’s your information to do with as you please. Your opportunities are limitless when you own the rights to your information.
As a marketer, if you want to expand your reach and you want to stay ahead of the competition, you must own your own information. Do not allow someone else to let you have your information. Do not allow someone else to stop them from ever selling it, ever losing it, ever using it. This is very crucial.
Getting People To Join Your Mailing List
The best way to get someone to sign up for something, is to give them tremendous information, give them the coupon. Let them know exactly what they are getting, let them know how they can use it, how they can make it last. Give them tremendous information and then let them use it. This is how we operate.
These people that you are mailing to, even though they may not be aware of all the information you have on this topic, hopefully they are aware of the information that they receive on other topics. And let me tell you this, those people who have that information will use it. Those people who have the coupon, will use it. They will pay attention. And if you are going to send someone a newsletter, or if you are going to send someone a special offer, or a special newsletter or something that they can use and save it, they are going to pay attention.
People are going to pay attention when they don’t throw it in the trash after a few weeks. You see, as you are mailing out your information, you’re doing something. You’re branding yourself, you’re building yourself, you`re creating value. The more valuable you are, the more attention you’re going to get.
